hi..... been looking at some old posts about converting fishing poles to modular window cleaning poles, at the moment im using CLX 27 with No 7 extension giving me 31ft with a reach of around 35ft, could really do with an extra 4 or 5 feet on about 3 jobs over the course of a month, cleaning over deep connys etc, i can reach..... JUST.... with maximum extension but its really hard work and uncomfortable, dont really want to spend hundreds for the sake of 3 jobs,
saw previous posts from Tosh & Matt on how to convert 2 sets of gangster poles but i think the length totaled less than 30ft.......im looking to reach 40ft so ideally want a pole length of 35ft minimum giving me 39/40ft with reach which should be plenty.
any advice on what i need .........and .......HOW to modify would be great
tony
I've done fishing poles before and to be honest they're great. But they are delicate. And you'll need very lightweight brush on the end too.
I think it will be impossible for you to find fishing tubes strong enough to add on to an existing CLX set up to give it length. Thats my opinion.
Starting from scratch to do a fishing pole set up......well, stuffs moved on since i or any of them have done it. But you'll need at a minimum a 10ft Carp pole to start with , price that up yourself via google.....and then deduct a few metres..... and then physically go round fishing shops looking for odd base sections you can shove in. I'd doubt you'll get a definitive answer of what will get you to 30/40/50 feet...... because it really doesn't pay and fishing gear like wfp stuff moves on . In all reality now its cheaper and easier to buy off the shelf........ <whatever manufacturer you choose>.
Also before any flies off with negative comments to me.. you said you want to go over connies (connys)....i'm guessing your pole is gonna be more horizontal than vertical ? Fishing poles don't do horizontal they'll collapse on you.....
You can probably buy SLX extensions from Gardiners to add length to your existing CLX set up, so i'd advise ringing them and asking, Just forget fishing poles....they've had their place and time.
