Running the risk of being shot down in flames .I have gone for a 180 amp battery and working 5.5 days a week 8 hours a day .my battery is lasting close on a fortnight ,then I charge it .
I didn't know you could get that size.

I do 11000 a year in my transit custom  and my scr was the worst money I have spent recently
Older vans maybe its  worth it

What was the problem Jon boy?

Got a 110 amp leisure battery
Charge it regularly
Scr doesn't do much for me at all,  not knowledgeable enough  to know why,  but I have to run with low beam on all the time to get anything at all.
Some of the other posters have probably  touched on the reasons why it doesn't do much
Its a 64 plate custom Limited

If it's a custom with auto stop stat a standard src will not work

Grippa sell one which works with new style auto stop start vans, mine works really well don't ever have to charge the batteries manuallly

I did low mileage & the split charge relay on occasion wasn't enough - so I got a small solar panel fitted on the roof too - between the 2 I never had a problem. :)

I have run 2 vans, 2 man systems off the van battery for years and years, never had a second battery, never had a problem...I always put a heavy duty battery on van and have no issues

Waits to be shot down :)
