ive had my van for 2 and a half years now and itll probably last me another 2 and a half (at least) but im going to start saving now for my next one.

i like the transit customs(swb).what size tanks can they comfortably hold,650L?im looking at a budget of 10k for the van and another 5k for signwriting/vinyl wrap,new tank,fitting,bits and bobs.that should get me a decent second hand van and system.

Depends on payload daz

They can hold anything right up to an 1000L

Highest payload is on the refreshed series 340 swb

You ideally want the 330 or 310 1500 - 1300 kg payload.

Excellent vans. With mine and a Grippa system it just feels so safe and sturdy. Absolutely love driving it.

My advice is get a minimum spec of a trend. You get a lot of toys for your money.

With 10k it would get you a high mileage for the year van and a trend. 80-90k on the clock.

Also sorted out new transit connect this year with a 500L Grippa system. Again lovely to drive and use.

so you have 2 vans mate?i didnt think the new connects could handle a 500L (i thought the payloads were lower than the older ones like mine).
one of my customers has got a new custom swb and i checked whether my poles would fit in without cutting into the bulkhead!easy peasy!

nice size for a 650l and plenty of room for heater,reels,poles,backpack etc.

my connects fine for now but would like my next van to be a bit bigger with a bigger tank TBH.

I can't comment on a 650L as I use Grippa tank systems and I think it would be overweight in a connect.

The DRY weight of a Grippa tank system is approx 120kg before it's even filled.

The one man connect with 500L system, delivery only with some metal work. Cox reel etc etc. One man. Etc etc comes in at 897kg the payload is 1003kg. It's a 230 or 240 lwb connect.

It is basic inside. System. Reel and spares.

Thinking on the same lines as you there Dazmond. Had my trusty connect T230  for 6yrs now, it's looking a bit run down and would like something slightly bigger, newer and tidier. I like the look of the custom, tidy van. Don't like the look of other vans  all that much apart from the mercedes vito perhaps.
