Have any of you actually cleaned the wrong house or apartment ?
I did today, you may well ask how is that possible ? Let me explain.
95% of the time I survey before cleaning so the mistake cannot happen , how ever on this occasion it was for a regular client who owns quite a few properties, she is always happy for me do the job and invoice her when I have completed knowing I am fair to her with the price.
I get a call from her can I clean an apartment for her, tenants have just moved in and wish to have carpets cleaned, No problem, I arranged a date and time, she gives me the address apt 4 street name , explains the tenant is Polish , does not speak good English and has a baby.
I get there today key in the code for gate ring apt 4 a polish girl with a baby answers," I have come to clean the carpets " ok thank you she says , all's good finish job , she is happy ,I'm happy.
A couple of hours later I get a call from my client ! Geoff you have cleaned wrong apt " impossible I said, gate opened with code , apt 4 . Polish with baby , doesn't talk English. " Its the next block apt 4 "she said , well I was astounded , she owns both blocks 8 apts in each ,next to each other and by pure coincidence apt. 4 next door was Polish ,with baby , and their was me assuming it was all one block and I went straight for buzzer 4.
No wonder , first girl was pleasantly surprised when I turned up to clean her carpets.
Yes I just got back in from completing the original job!
Well I am laughing about it really, but was not amused at discovering the mistake at first.
So Tell me , Has any thing similar happened to others?
