Can any one help me with this problem?
I have a van mounted system, i have tried filling from a tap with lots of pressure and at another place with less pressure,but still only get about 150 ltrs in 12 hours.
We used to get more when anothr guy was working for me and filling at his house but he left and cant cotact him.
When filling from the tap with high pressure i am told there was more waste water but no more going into the tank.

My system is 6 stage, 650 ltr. Bought from purewater uk on ebay.I have changed carbon filter and melt blown pp cartridge,dont ask me what that is,the resin is fine also.Thats all i know sorry

  Don't know if this may be the cause but I used to have good pressure
  but now this has changed because we have installed central heating.
  We have had to turn down the pressure by having the stop valve slightly
  open.

  This may be your problem if you turn up your stop valve on your water mains
  this may increase your flow, but may cuase problems on your internal system.

You can buy pumps to boost your water pressure.


Please dont tell me you have an unbaffled IBC storage tank in your vehicle.

Cant understand why you would need to reduce your pressure for the cental heating ? what was happening under full pressure ?

Do not know who told you that but if you have a higher pressure you will have less waste as you are filling quicker

It also depends on what type of R/O you have.
I use a 1000l IBC tank at home to store the water in and my water pressure is high.

It takes over 24 hours to fill completely.

Waste to pure is approx 3:1.

The R/O is currently bringing my TDS reading down to 0.003 ppm.


But other R/O's will work much faster, the 4040 is the big one and will fill your 650l tank in a couple of hours with the R/O bringing the TDS down to about 0.001-3 ppm with a pure to waste ratio of 1:1

So it really depends on what R/O you have (plus your water pressure of course)

Regards central heating, how you open your stop cock doesn't affect the water pressure, only the rate of flow.
Your system will be fed by a header tank which will have it's own ball valve, so how far you open your stop cock shouldn't make one iota of difference.

well i use a merlin brings my water down from 390 to 19 and fills my 700 ltr tank in van within 4 hours

More waste and less good water sounds like a low pressure problem to me. When you say tap pressure is good you need to know how good. It will still look OK even when its too low to operate a RO unit.
Get an inline pressure guage from Ro-man, its only about a tenner.
Many water authorities have reduced pressure to save water.
