Day turned into a disaster
« on: September 18, 2015, 05:56:06 pm »
Worked this mornin nice and early to get my work done as I had to go to see a job out of town, finished me last job about half 9, filled me van up at the asda and got back in to start and the clutch went down and stayed down ...........
Had to hire a van for the day to go see this job as I couldn't wait for recovery so left it there were it was, got back at half 4 to listen to manager of asda giving it the beans.
Just had it recovered to clutch centre, great news am standing there and mechanic tells me it's the master clutch cylinder ...... And ya mays well change ya clutch while ya there 😢😢😡
Only problem I got is my van won't fit on his ramps ....... 😡😡😡😡😡
Oh 💩
Just got off phone to local Renault dealership were I already do work and I was hoping or the van fixed by dinner time ......
Quote from parts  " great news matt, we have all the parts in stock for you "
New clutch and master cylinder oil fuel an air filters new oil and a few lights around the van
Quote from service department
" sorry to here about the van matt if you get it down to us tonight and leave keys on my desk will have mechanics on it at 8am" ........  Am thinking yes that's great, so I says thank u very much for ya help an will it be ready by 1 tomora afternoon. 😃
...... It wasn't the answer I wanted 🙈🙉🙊💩
1 Monday afternoon matt it's a 12 hour job and the mechanics are not allowed to work past 1 on a Saturday ........
DISASTER came to mind

And that doesn't cover it,  they just rang me back with the only good news of the day and gave me the site van for the weekend, which is appreciated but wtf am I meant to wfp with

Thanks for listening guys and that's my rant over for the day am going to have an hours kip and get this piece of crap towed down to dealership when the rush hour dies down.

Bum holes... What Renault have you got..?

I just picked up my Transit from being in the garage 2 weeks, yep that's tight, 2 weeks..! To find the EML light won't go out and it's piddling oil all over the floor..!

Hey ho, weekend is here now and a tinny is now being poured..

Although you're calling it a disaster, that's a pretty good turnaround time IME.  The garage I use usually couldn't even look at it for a week.  It got silly in the end with off road times of 7 weeks and three weeks.  Not their fault, they're good at what they do, treat the customer fairly, so a lot of people go there.  My Trafic had gone into mystery fault mode which took ages to trace - partly because I didn't want to spend too much.
That's gone now though and although the monthly payments look scary, it's nice to drive around in something new with a bit of confidence in it.

Like you say, never ever a good time for it to go bang, just like staff wanting holidays  ;D ;D

Allstate well here mate, I hope the van is ready and back on the road Monday without too much wallet surgery

We've had a week of incapable carriers mislabelling and misrouting parcels - and the smashed up a pump!

They are usually good as gold but seem to have cocked up constantly this week! (angry face) :D

This dealership is like no other, they don't like having there vans off the rd they understand the pain it causes  :D they even told not to worry about paying until the end of the month which is very kind of them.
I could  throw a diy set up in it but al sort any wfp out Monday,

Darran
