« on: August 26, 2015, 06:05:47 pm »
I need  to get two new batteries, but cant wait to order them online . The current ones I have are 35 amp hours but my local Shops (europarts and Halfords) only sell higher am hour batteries. would it be ok to purchase one or two of these, and what amp hour should I get ?
many thanks

What's it for - trolley or van.

Generally the bigger the better as they last longer between charge

Darran got there first.  :)

What system have you got and what space have you got?

We fitted the single operator vans with 85 amph leisure batteries and my twin operator van has a 110 amp which is more than sufficient for doing a days work.

A Shurflo pump draws about 4.5 amps per hour. On a leisure battery you don't want to draw below half charge although 75% to 80% is best for battery longevity. So on an 85 amph you want around 45 amps remaining before recharging. That's about 8 hours working time or around 2 days of residential work.

Obviously the bigger 110 amph battery will last longer before needing a recharge; around 3 days using the same example.

Pay the extra and run both pumps off a 110ah

You'll get a few days before you need to charge (or run a split charger)

i just buy the 75ah leisure batteries from a local car/caravan spares shop for around £60-£70.they last me 1-2 years before needing a new one.(single operator,6-7 hours a day, charged every night).
price higher/work harder!
