« on: July 09, 2015, 04:10:46 pm »
I have got an Slx 30 and its fitted with a residential neck at the moment that seems like its stuck in the pole.
Has anyone here had problems swopping over and how did you resolve it ?

Cheers

Brute force maybe?

Try twisting & pulling at the same time and also goes wihout saying slacken the clamp as much as you can.
If you are on about quick loq's being jammed then good luck with that one as are pigs to get apart.

I've the same pole and had the same problem.

The first time I tried to get the two apart I had to get a mate to help. As posted above, brute strength.

I now never push the neck bit down all the way into the pole.

I have several resi necks of varying diameters, I think quality control wavers a bit wherever they are produced. The tightest ones I've sanded down with really coarse sand paper.

I've done the same. I have also sanded the quikloqs so that all my brushes are easily interchangeable. I've given myself strain injuries trying to get those things apart.

The one supplied with my slx 25 wouldn't fit at all until I'd sanded it down.

I spent an hour this afternoon sanding down various bits untill they all can be changed over easily. I did actually think it was me that was just a bit unlucky with a few naff resi necks and quik locks.

I’m surprised Alex Gardiner hasn't commented on this post.

I've got the same problem at the moment with an SLX25, it all worked fine until I bought a replacement No.1 section and I only managed to get the resi gooseneck about half way in, now its stuck fast even with 2 of us trying to pull it apart and the push fit connector has disconnected and we've no way of reconnecting it. I'm emailing gardiners today to try and get a solution!

You may have already tried this but have you slackened the clamp bolt right off and pried apart the two sides with a large flat blade screw driver. It still needs two people to do it but it helped mine loose.
