Firstly you need to put that seal back on the pre filter, next where are you buying the filters ? I had a batch a few years
back that when I put them in the vessels they wouldn't tighten enough to stop leaking.
They where slightly too long and to be honest I think they might have been rejects, try buying some replacements from a
different supplier.

The guy I bought the whole ro unit off said he's had it for 2 years and never changed anything, that seems exactly the problem Sean, it just seems too long with that rubber seal on and water is literally pouring out, I took it off, tightened it and not a drip! think it's about time I changed the filters though, so I need to change all 6?

Assuming you're producing enough water for you to work with all week, you need to change the three pre-filters underneath every 2-3 months in order to protect the more delicate RO membranes on top. With good maintenance mine lasted 7 years although they were producing a lot more waste to pure water toward the end. However, if those pre-filters are not changed the RO membranes can become contaminated. As it appears to only be two years old, a set of pre-filters would be a good place to start and should only set you back about £12 plus postage.
