Gerald if your hoses aren't getting snagged then you must be using a backpack or trolley which is what I might
consider after this weeks faffing about with hoses ( I hate them and if I ever quit this job never want too see one again )

My son prefers to use a back pack for the same reason.

He says that hoses bring Tourettes to the fore.

I leave backpack in car and take reel to furthest part of job. It doesn't get snagged because you are not pulling pipe from reel in vehicle, the pipe is feeding from reel as you carry it thus the pipe is stationary.  When you've finished you reel in as you walk back to vehicle.
As the pipe has considerably less wear you can use ordinary pipe instead of reinforced.
