after going back to cold water i use standard yellow microbore from gardiners now.cheap and very lightweight.quite a bit lighter than orange thermobore.much easier to drag around making my working day easier.

I'm the same.

I used the orange thermobore but for cold it's just too heavy and awkward I've found.

Now I just use gardiners yellow hose, it copes fine with hot water aswell aslong as it's not too hot.

IF you have had water over 65 degrees and then  at a later date it split. It will continue splitting as the polyurethanes has broken down.
 Any Polyurethanes hose used with hot water and I don`t mean  warm (over 65 degrees ) will breakdown and become stiff and eventually split or crack. The stiffening of a hot hose is just the start of it been stuffed. I have had my orange Gardeners since it came onto the market and is still not stiff, so don`t blame the manufacturer if its shot. Blame you own ignorance of the product properties you use.

To have the water at 65 degrees you would have to be running the boiler flat out on maximum. I'm pretty sure not many users do that. I know I don't.

50 degrees is the max I use and still had problems with thermobore when using cold.

Sometimes there is differing batches of hose So mayb your experience was different to mine.
