Gutter Vac cameras?
« on: December 28, 2014, 10:58:18 am »
I wondered if someone could please explain the normal procedure with the gutter vac cameras.
I'm guessing you film the gutter all around when you give a quote to show the customer how dirty they are, and then film them once they are empty and show the customer they are clean?

I just show them when I've done the job.
I have the camera on so I can check on my progress, to see if I've got all the crap out, when I'm happy everything is clear I film it. Some customers will hold my phone and I just say, "watch this, see what you think "(use discernment!!). Chuffed to bits usually. Others I just show the clip, happy with that.
The reason I don't show them BEFORE I do the job is that much of the gutters maybe not be very clogged up and so may feel aggrieved at paying for, what they deem, to be not much work. You could quote an inspection price I Suppose? Personally I don't bother with that.

Thanks for that mate. Incidentally would you mind telling me which gutter vac system you use? I want one that's light enough to use regularly. I've heard some are on the heavy side and a bit knackering.

Yeah, I've got the Grippavac carbon fibre poles, clamped. They're light but strong. Similar if not the same diameter and weight to the 44' extension pole Xtreme.

Yep, I got the generator off ebay and it's been great. Lucky I suppose.
Got a Gopro silver edition from Argos, but I think Grippavac sell them as well.
I also bought the tool pack of gutter suckers from Grippa, the normal gulper, narrow for smaller gaps and shallower angle one for conny roofs etc. Also my camera attachment for fitting to gulper tool so you can see and film what you've done.
