Streamline 600GPD Question
« on: November 08, 2014, 02:55:33 pm »
Hi everyone.

Yesterday I changed my RO membranes on my system above. I am 90% sure that all of the hoses are back on properly and in the right place.

Now when I turn the water on though, most of the water is going very quickly into my tank, way quicker than it was. Is this because I have put the hoses on wrong or will it purify loads quicker with new membranes?

There is hardly any pressure on the pressure gauge too whereas before it was reading between 40-50PSI. I am assuming based on the lack of pressure that it is not purifying.

Any ideas gratefully received!

Have you half closed/opened the waste flow restrictor for waste water as if it's close then RO will fill really quick.

new membranes will be much quicker less resistance to water flow.

Whats your waste tds?
Whats your in going tds?
What was the tds before you changed membranes..?

Answer these questions and you'll know whether you've messed up re connecting your pipes...

Check the TDS of the water from the RO - if it's as you expect, check the flow from the waste as suggested above.  If it's high it could be that the new membrane(s) have not seated properly in the housings and waste water is leaking past the seal and into the pure water take-off.

Thanks very much for all of the replies guys.  I can presently only check the TDS coming out of the waste due to how the system is set up in the van.  A lot of the pipework is boarded off.  Will I be able to glean any information from just the waste?
