First week with slx 25 and new backpack
« on: November 07, 2014, 05:58:13 pm »
I have to agree it's an amazing pole it really is. Well worth the money. Also i was so shocked how easy the backpack is to use(have a gardiners one) i have been using it all week instead of taking the trolley out(as i work from a trolley) and is great for those jobs you have to go through garages or just quickly have to do a front only. The time to unpack is far quicker than a trolley..

Question is.. Can i get away with using the backpack for that amount of jobs? At £85 even if it lasted 6 months the time i'm saving is crazy. Just carry the backpack with pole and off i go..

What are your views? I'm assuming that the backpack with constant use may not last that long(as i'm aware they are add ons etc) but does anyway use these alot in there everyday work?

Using a backpack full time must surely be a health risk. Can a back stand that all day, day in day out?

Sorry how is it a health risk? I'm not carrying it on my back I'm just carrying using handle and is a lot lighter than lifting the freedom trolley in and out the van :-)

To be fair though you do a couple of houses a day and then hit the pub.

Not really a fair comparison.

Yep. I work 9-12 and hit the pub lol ;-) cos like alot of people on here say they earn £300 A DAY.  So i only work half days and still earn £750 per week..

Jokes aside why do window cleaners on here go on about what they earn? I find it quite irritating actually..  Personally if i earned £300 a day(which i don't-only a one man band) i certainly wouldn't go on about it..

19 years in the business now(only 6 months wfp) but totally loving it. I have learned alot of positive things on this forum and even met a few great guys who have helped me out but some of the posts on here really get on my tits lol

We've had some corkers on here over the years- millionaires (living in one bedroom flats), people with registered head offices (turns out to be their home), experts in every subject known to man, property developers (sold their home & bought another), life coaches, international marketing gurus- the list goes on!!
CIU could do with an Anaerobic Digester for the amount of male bovine manure which is produced here, it would provide enough electricity to power the whole country!!  ;D ;D

Stick it on one of these foldables and it saves the back from carrying a load on one side.
My only real fault is the handle/lid can't take the weight anymore but gravity has to share the blame here.

Isn't that just a trolley with a barrell of water? I was talking about the backpack.. i think it's easier just to carry the backpack with the pole rather than lifting the freedom trolley in and out the van. Personally i don't find the backpack heavy to carry at all with the handle so happy days.. Whatever works for oneself i guess :-)  Even if i got through a backpack every 6 months it suits me :-)

When you have a big house or a number of houses with no van move it must be a pain to have to refill the backpack. At least with a trolley you only need to swap barrels. Nothing beats a van mount though. Drag the hose to the furthest point and work back.
