Does anyone heat the water in their ibc tank if so how do you find it , basically just to stop water freezing in the hope whilst working instead of heating the tank in the van

Immersion heaters

The point of heating the water in the tank over noght is your van tank will act as a big radiator stopping any piping in your van freezing (whilst also having warm water whilst working)
I dont think heating the water in your ibc and then transferring it will stop the pipes freezing in your van over night, as the water will lose too much heat (you'd probably need to run it through your system to help stop the pipes freezing but i still think your pipes would freeze)

Bloke I used to work for had 5x vans on the go so used to heat his water (think it was 4 x ibc all connected) in the unit he rented.

He used a swimming pool heater and it would get really nice and hot to be fair - we transferred it into the vans in the mornings and the water stayed warm all day.
We independently made sure our vans were heated to stop freezing over night.

Mind, he only put it on if the weather reports warned of prolonged cold snaps.
