shop front advertising.
« on: September 28, 2014, 07:23:19 pm »
There is a shop near to me, on a major set of lights, one road which comes from a large Tesco and actually faces the shop front, which has come up for rent.

It has a massive front window, ideal for advertising. Its £600 a month.

Im thinking this is a great advertising opportunity, even if i just rent it to use the window space. Equivalent to £150.

What do you think?

could be a good idea mick, think of the extra costs possibly involved business rates, utility bills, what other use could the shop be used for could you not sell window cleaning supplies from there

TBH, id only want it for the advertising space, 1 conservatory job a week, its paid for!

Also advertise for canvassers.

As already said, the rent maybe only one bill, you need to check out the biz rates situation, and on what basis the property is let.   - you could be tied in for 3 or 5 years maybe longer and then what is your responsibilities regarding upkeep and repairs

That's not how to look at it. You have to compare it to other forms of advertising. Besides if you charged £160 for the roof you would have lost money.

its on short or long term, and compared to other forms of advertising, its very cost effective!!!
I know there are biz rates etc on top, I've had premises in other business' before, but if in total, it cost £1000 it would still be cheaper than a lot of other options.

Its a thought anyway, as next year i am starting another biz alongside and could put some telesales in the premises too.

Sounds like a bit of a weird one that. Maybe spend a few hours canvassing and getting your name about will net you more than one conservatory roof for little financial outlay :/ .

Well the frontage is a "normal" size conner shop, but its the position and the footfall past it daily is loads!!!

Hoping to get another van or 2 on the road next year, so amongst other things may well need a premises.
