What set up?
« on: September 17, 2014, 09:18:45 pm »
I have increased my budget to £800 now and I already have a 200ltr baffled tank would this be enough to build a system for wfp ? I will have to start with cheap pole but this I can improve once I start earning with it, it's the rest ie pump, controller, filter I don't have a clue about any advise would be hugely appreciated.

A 200 litre tank won't be enough mate...your gonna need a 350 minimum.

If your budget is tight the 200 ltr will be fine just go down the local
car wash get some 25 ltr barrels to make up the difference.

Your first step is pure water.

You will need a ro system.

I recommend a 450 GPD ro and just fill up at night or get a static tank at home.

Best part of £300 there though gone already. And that's if you don't need a booster pump.

Then get a backpack from gardiners, £110

A gardiners slx 25, £250

Don't scrimp on the pole is my advice. It's your most used piece of equipment and the lighter and rigid you get the better a job you will be able to do.

First step is to find out how hard your water is you need
a tds meter... this  wll help you decide if you need to be Di only(soft water area)
or you need a Ro system.

a 200L tank wont be big enough,  most guys on here use between 200 and 500 L a day.

I have a 400L tank and on a slow day it will just last 2 days.  On a normal day I can use 300 L per a day.

Its really annoying when you run out of water,  and you will also soon get sick of pouring extra water in the tank from 25L drums, its time consuming and your time is precious and would rather be working than pouring....

It would take about 10 minutes to pour 4 x 25 litres of water into a tank.  Maybe even half that time.  It wouldn't really be a chore.

To the OP, you can DIY a flow controller for under a tenner; it's very easy to do.  Do a search here; I can't help out more because work calls.

The Op has already said this will be temporary, cant see the problem using a 200ltr tank and some barrels a backpack or a
small battery say 12ah and a pump say a 3.2lpm 70psi which will cost pennies
on a board and 50-100 metres of microbore.

Clx pole will do you fine,i used harris poles for years£15 which are easy to adapt
and I used a  universal extension to get to third floor.

A really light brush is essential though Gardiners have a good range.

With your water hardness spend decent money on a Ro that will suit
your needs hopefully you will have good water pressure if not get a pumped
system.

You can upgrade the gear as finances allow.

Have you looked at the Purefreedom DIY system, I'm not sure but it might be within your budget and includes everything you need to start up.
