I'll do it another day!
« on: September 14, 2014, 07:53:14 pm »
The little things that get put off again and again. It's be a long time coming but this week I'm going to get the finger out and actually do them. SLX-22 replace clamps, sure flow pump and analogue controller to be fitted to battery box.
Then I'll try out the slx v the clx side by side.
Previous clamp upgrade I just cut the pole sections back but this time I'll save the pole.

Has anyone just replaced the levers instead of full clamp change. It seems to have done the trick although I'm not sure if the clamp body is made from different material and whether this would have a negative effect.

I have been wondering around the house looking for my RED tape to put on my pole.  I have black tape but when its extended its harder to see so have been putting it off for weeks.  finally got round to hunting for it today and found it.

I've ran out of red tape and only have grey but before I put the pole away months ago I'm sure I re taped it with the red. It still stinks of the PTFE spray so as soon as I decide whether or not to replace the full clamp it'll be good to go.

im the exact opposite alan!!im  always OVER ORGANISED with equipment, spares and work in general! ;D

at end of this month ill be installing my hot water system, reel and hose again for the winter months. ;)

the clamps should be sawn through at an angle then prised off with a screw driver.alex put up a video when he brought the new smart clamps out last year.very easy to do.itll take you a few hours though to do all your clamps and reglue the new ones on.worth it though if your pole is worn or you could just buy a new pole! 8)
price higher/work harder!

The problem is If one bit of kit has a problem I'll just use another and then put of fixing it.
As the van and car are going in three weeks I'm trying to get more organised with everything I've put off. Time just fly's bye and before I know it next week turns into 8 months!

That's the clamps changed over. Although after mixing the glue it started to go pretty Damme hot and by the time I had got to the last of 4 sections it was too thick and unworkable. So after all that time >:(
