tank-DI-brush problems
« on: August 07, 2014, 05:36:20 pm »
Evening chaps.
Having recently done a new van set up im having big problems.
Im going from tap water in the tank, through the DI vessel up to the brush.

Now i changed the resin less than two weeks ago and when i check today im at 60 tds with two customer complaints already.

With my previous static and trolley set up my resin would be fine for far longer than that.

Is it normal to change the resin frequently for my type of set up?
Any tips on how to make it more efficient?

Quite concedrned I may need to re clean all the houses i did today!

I'm north west so the tap Tds is normally around 60 anyway so basically the DI is not doing anything

Got the cap on the right way round? There should be an arrow marked on it.

yeah its the right way round.
Was wondering if the speed the water comes through affects it?
Before with the staic system i would trickle the water through the DI into the static tank.
Now its coming from the tank, through the DI is straight up the pole to clean the windows.
Perhaps this means its not properly getting purified cos its going through so fast?

I use the same set up with tap tds of 100 and it works fine.
must be something wrong with the DI

One or two seem to be having resin problems. Could your problem be the same?

hmmm, very interesting .  I must admit, last time i changed i got a reading of 5 straight away but put that down to poor connections.  I'll check my tap tds again but yeah, maybe its just the resin is awful! Tulsion resin I'm using

Me too and I have noticed some of it in the bag is very dry like sand.

i go through a 25kg bag of resin every 4 months roughly(DI only, twin DI s when resin creeps up in single vessel.tap tds 35).ive not noticed a change in my resin usage.maybe im using a bit more but im using more water.roughly 7000L-8000L a month these days.

i use tulsion mb 115 too.in fact ive just ordered another 25kg bag from pure freedom.

i purify straight into my tank though ready for the next days work.
price higher/work harder!

how often would you say you have to change your resin DG?

I'm part time I only do 1 day a week these days so a bag lasts me a year.
I do swap to twin di's once the tds rises to make the most of it.

so i changed my resin to fresh stuff today and it was already coming back at 001 or 002.  this is from a tap tds of 90.  Does this sound like dodgy resin to everyone else?
