Shurflo pump has died, where can I get one?
« on: June 05, 2014, 01:21:08 pm »
My 100 psi Shurflo seems to have finally given up after 7 years of constant use. Does anyone know of any retailers that I can get one from, obviously theres the internet but im going away tomorrow til sunday and need a new one today so I can go back to work Monday, any suggestions appreciated. I tried Screwfix, no luck.

You will need to order it from a supplier of wfp equipment.

The caravan outlets also have Shurflo pumps but they aren't for window cleaning.

Just out of interest, what's up with the old pump?  Often the pressure switches go and they're fixed with a £2.50 pressure switch and about fifteen minutes of your time.

I was wondering if it might be the pressure switch, where might I get a replacement?

Tell me the symptoms before I tell you where to get one.  Does the pump work sometimes, like when you wiggle the connections, but then fails to work at other times?

Here, this is the pressure switch I used; if it is that; get three of them:

(Later changed to the right one; thanks for pointing that out Spruce)

If getting out to work is important, get the pump too.  This way you'll have a spare, which we all should anyway.

Yes i've already ordered a new pump, should be coming tomorrow, but would like to repair the other one if it's just the switch.
The pump failed, I then touched the wires and it went for a couple more houses, then it seemed to die completely.

What you've showed me looks nothing like the one on the pump.
Whats the lever bit for?

It's the pump pressure switch; I'm 99% certain.

Okay, the microswitch that I stuck the link for is INSIDE the shurflow pump.  Look at the bottom of the pump (the bit that has the hexagonal screw is the bottom) and there'll be a couple of screws (four or five).  Undo them and carefully take the pump apart.

Take some photos as you go, just in case you forget what goes where.  Its' very simple to take apart; even I could do it.

Take the old microswitch out and replace it with the new one.

If it's all beyond you, I'll buy your old one off you for a tenner plus postage.  ;D

Tosh, that part number doesn't look right.

It's the one I used and it works fine.  There's two prongs on that; only one is needed, but it fits fine and works great.

Yep, you're right and I'm wrong, Spruce.  Apologies; I'll change the link just in case someone buys it.

Thanks.
