Its MOT day for me... I have been driving without a MOT for 2 weeks without knowing :o

The only thing i can think that it would fail on, it my tracking was out before so the edge of my back tyre is low but the rest is fine should it be ok? (Ps i had to replace front because of a puncture)

Mine was yesterday, and cost me about 600 quid with repairs etc.  :( MOT is 2 yearly here. We also get 3 months over run, so two weeks wouldn't have mattered.

By 2 yearly do you mean twice a year or every 2 years?

So you can drive about for 2 years 3 months in a untested car! I suppose their MOTs are more rigorous? i.e. done properly?

The only thing i am struggling with is wet shoes now. I never used too, but i think its coz i took a leaf out of your book and work in rain i probably wouldn't work in. I mean today is was bouncing off the van roof lol and i will still working. But my shoes are getting soaked now even though they are waterproof.

I will have a search on here, as i know its come up a few times lol

Soupy, at the risk of appearing thick, WTF are you on about mate? TÜV (MOT) is every 24 months. I'm allowed 3 months over run on that. So by your reckoning, you can drive an untested vehicle for 12 months or what's your point? I don't know if the tests are harder here than UK. As I understand it, if UK stay in the EU, then MOT will become 2 yearly too.

I think what he was asking is...is the reason you have 2 years (rather than our 1) because the MOT/TÜV test is better mate?(a bit more rigorous)

I have a 1980 series 3 land rover. Every year it needs work. I wouldn't like to think what kind of mess she'd be in if I left her for 27 months without being tested.

VOSA recently changed the rules here for older vehicles. I have a mate who has a 1958 series 1. It's been modified and has a 3.5 v8, he doesn't need to get it tested. Ever. It's a freaking death trap.
