My brother has one and is suffering from wear at the top of the sections and using tape to adjust closed section clamping position . Maybe if he cleaned the pole as i said this would not of happened  ?

same happens with all carbon poles mate.clx,slx and extremes all wear quickly on the first 2 top sections IME no matter how much you flush them out/lacquer them.
price higher/work harder!
