Gutter debris Chute?
« on: April 25, 2014, 08:37:48 am »

Was there some talk on here some time ago about a gutter debris chute being developed?

I think the idea was to attach the chute to the top of your ladder so you can fire the debris straight into a sack on the ground.

Was this ever manufactured by anyone and if so are they available to buy at the moment?

What a good idea!

Something like they use on building sites for rubbish that goes into skips, but a bit more lightweight?
You can't polish a turd

If you had something like that and use it with the gutter sense you could safely clean gutters
from the ground without the need of an expensive gutter vac.

I can't really get my head round how that would work, because the gutter chute that I saw previously was attached to a rung near the top of the ladder so debris could be placed into it by hand.
So it had to be used with a ladder.
Im sure I remember a member on here had manufactured one, I can't recall his username but I think his name was Richard.
I thought it was a great idea; simple and effective.

I carry a folding ladder that opens up to 4.6m so I would us it to support the chute
or if it was light enough hang it of the gutter.
I was going to give the gutter sense a try but didn't like the fact when you lifted the debris out of the
gutters you had to let it drop to the ground just looked a bit messy.
So maybe a chute of some sort could solve this problem.

Yes I see what you mean now.
I was just considering that a gutter chute could probably made by using one of the ribs from a fishing keepnet or landing net and then attaching a tunnel of tarpaulin type material of around 6 metres long. But I suppose it would need an industrial sewing machine to fasten it correctly. Then add a bracket for attaching to a ladder rung.

Great that's what I wanted to hear. Any idea if the prototype he was using has come any further?

Or better still his contact details as if he is willing I'd like to buy one myself
