Newly started and new website feedback
« on: March 16, 2014, 04:18:55 pm »
Hello fellow window wetters!

Firstly, I would love to get some feedback on my website and facebook page if you've got the time.
http://www.cornwallwindowcleaning.co.uk

I started my first window cleaning business a couple of weeks ago as well as helping a mate out 2 or 3 days a week for £10 an hour.
Firstly this is my first ever manual job. After nearly 16 years in care work I needed a change and with a mate looking to expand and buy a new round with him willing to take me on and train me up, it seemed like a no brainer, scary but something I had to do.
So on my days off (including Sundays) I have been getting out around my local area, knocking and working as I go. I found this to be the best approach as people see the quality of the work and you're there, already set up. I was a little slow at first but now I seem to be able to do a typical 2 up 2 down in about 10 mins and charging £8, which people seem very happy with and now have 40 houses on my books, all in the space of about a week and a half.
I have to say I'm really loving being out and about in the local area and to have the potential to make some decent money just drives me on even more, just wish I'd taken the plunge a long time ago!
One happy pole pusher!!
Nick.

Well you have a website... Thats a good start!
3 years on and im still yet to get one.

Are you building the round for you or your friend? I did this with my uncle helped him build his up then left and did my own. Looking back i wish i just started off on my own because i would probs have over 400 customers now.

The website, H2O, is my own business, my mate owns a different one. So it's all mine, mwahahahaha!

Tbh mate just start pricing houses a couple of pound more but just sell yourself to the potential customer.
Example- "your looking at £10.00 1x a month, but thats all your windows, frames and doors cleaned, it doesnt matter if your not in while we cleaned them, we leave a note saying a time we will call for the money"

If the customer is unsure with the price just have laugh with them and say" its only a pint a week to keep your windows clean!! "

Usually works for me  :D

Only been on mobile site. It nice on the iPhone.

Only issues I can see are....

lack of photos
It's a bit drab for a window cleaning site.
Logo? (Unless I missed it as I am tired)
SEO could be a bit better
Took me a while to work out you has more than one page

That's great, thanks for all the opinions. Will def put up more pics when I've got them. Annoying I can't change the layout of the mobile site. I would be interested to know if you see the mobile site on tablets or the website?

ipad air = full site.

See the logo now on first page ;)

The text doesnt pop off the screen due to the dark background. On my iphone 5 and air it deffo looks a bit dull/drab. Considering they have very bright screens :)

I would see about a page for each service as well. Basically your website is your sales pitch, so it needs to cover everything.

You need to look at things like cookie/privacy policy as well.

Decent site though :)
