RO - Waste to Pure
« on: March 12, 2014, 07:31:24 pm »
Hi guys, just a quick question.

Can you alter this on your standard type RO's ? I dont mean 40/40's just like ya 200/300 gpd units.

Cheers

Sorry my fault i meant can you lower the pure water tds?

I know that more waste will get rejected, but not on a water meter.

Sorry mate.

Can you ask the question again.

Do you want to connect an additional ro unit to the output of an ro?

On a 40/40 i think you can adjust the pure to waste ratio?

So i was wondering on the smaller 100/200/300/400 GPD RO's Can you adjust how much pure is made to waste.

I want a lower purer reading, i know more waste will get rejected.

LOL ;)

course you can.. but you would need to fit your own tap and get rid of the one connected to the RO already

These..........

Any info on what i have asked for, cheers :D

You can fit a tap but it will only increase your pure water rate with a higher ppm.
Logical when you think about it.
It will not give you more waste water but less.

right ok thanks mate, so its the opposite. I would make more pure water, less waste but higher PPM.

Just trying to get another water setup without using an DI. So ideally i wanted the pure to be 10ppm or less.

I am starting off with 475ppm you see  ::)roll

I'm a bit confused. Lol

My 450gpd has a flush valve that is closed. Then when I want to flush my membranes I open the valve and majority of water goes out the waste pipe, and a trickle out the pure.

If I open the flush valve a little bit, I get more waste, and less pure, but the pure is lower TDS.

Is that not what you were meaning pure h20 services?

Ahhhhaaa thats what i mean. So with you have said there, can that actually be done. So instead of fully flushing, i would only have it partly open. More waste, lower tds on pure.....

Yeah that's what happens with mine anyway.

Daqua 450 GPD
My tap TDS is 080
Input pressure 70psi

Flush valve closed and ro produces 001/002

Open the flush valve slightly and I can get the ro producing 000

Ive only been using it for a few weeks, but it's awesome. Fill my van up in the morning, and by the next morning my 1000 litre ibc in the garage is full again.

More than enough water for me.
