Local news paper advertising
« on: January 13, 2014, 08:28:06 pm »
Been offered a good price for a half page (right hand page, no.3,5 or 7) at a good price delivered to nearly 50k homes. Has anybody any experience of advertising in local newspapers for an advert of this size?

I do in 2 parish mags.
One is £120 a year.
Other is £240.

Both paid for themselves within a month and go on and on...!
Well worth it.
Even if you don't get work directly from it, the old dears will recognise your ad, and see your van and feel a little more confident seeing you about. It takes some of 'em a year or so to feel comfortable with a new face in their garden.

I did my local free paper a few months ago for £48 for three weeks for an inch square ad. It paid for itself which is main thing but won't be doing it again anytime soon!

tell me about it was a reason I pulled out on the carpet cleaning side , we ran a 8 week run in our local paper for the window cleaning and got one 4 week job from it so if they stay on round for two years ill get my money back lol ,

if you have 150 pounds doing northing and willing to gamble then way not give it a go , but if its your last spare money then maybe put that in to goole add words or what ever there called may be a safer bet

The problem I had advertising in a local newspaper was that jobs were all over town, though it did produce work, it didn't produce compact work (or anything near compact).
Where am I knocking today?
