Good Day Canvassing
« on: January 06, 2014, 04:18:15 pm »
Had a good day canvassing today for 3 hours. £172.00 new work and a further £172 quoted for :)

Seemed to  find a jackpot Private Road.

This forum is a big motivation to get out there knocking!

Get out there lads the work is there!!

I currently have around 150 custies... I have never canvassed and have set a target for 70new customers this year just leafletting and word of mouth.

So i assume if i canvassed i could double mayby evem treble that :o??

Whereabouts are you in the country SHC? **Edit** Nevermind, just seen you're in Essex.

Good clear day here in essex and people were in.

I did however tread in dog mess   >:(

It's definitely time to canvass as in the summer you'll have more competition

ATM you haven't got many canvassers about

I've started back today. Arrived in North Yorkshire in time for an evening knock. Got 14 jobs, all monthlys, booked in for this week and set up on BACS. Happy days.
Where am I knocking today?

Pdale do people mind you canvassing when it's dark?

Been reluctant to canvass in the dark but do you think it's ok to do?

Cheers

RWCS ... After 4pm when the mothers start bringing the kids back from school ... 5pm onwards is your prime time though. I still do daytime knocking (10-2) but evening is obviously better.

SHC ... You are always going to get the occasional one who may mind, just put it out of your head, never had anyone rude though. The good thing with the dark nights is that you can tell who is in as the lights will be on. The only issues I have ever experienced knocking in the dark is if I'm working a low lighten street, not that they mind but some householders are a little suspicious. Don't let it stop you knocking though.

Where am I knocking today?

from my limited experience of both so far canvassing averages 2 custies per hour whereas leafleting maybe  2 per  5 hours at best  :)
