Right fellas I am leaving myself wide open here but I need some advice on the following.
Chatting to one of my customers today who asks if I do internal stuff. Said yeah we do thinking he was enquiring about his own home but he works in a major car showroom and they have let the window cleaner go because of the standard of work and irregularity of cleans. We are talking 4 showrooms so a decent old contract here. He asks if I would like to go and see the manager and I obviously said yes and then it dawned on me that I may have bitten off more than I can chew. We have done a few internal cleans of pubs, clubs, nursing homes etc but nothing on this scale. I need advice on what to use, how, tips just anything that will help me to get the contract and obviously do a good job. It may be that I will have to turn it down but this is also a massive step towards me going full time if it comes off.

You would need to be an expert at trad pole work and to be honest probably not please them anyway no matter if the job was perfect by the sounds of it.

I am in the same boat mate, i cant turn down the work as other stuff is in the pipe line with the same guy. I do my first one tomorrow morning. I have booked the day off for it as I am pretty much up to date on my work. I have asked for some help though on this one.

I am hopefully going to be using my carbon poles and adapters for trad gear. Run off is going to be a big problem and i dont even know if thats the best way. I can't see the last firm using towers/ladders or mobile platforms. I have 5 including this one to sort out. Luckily a good mate is coming with me to hold my willy lol As i am not keen on it at all. Luckily i am pretty good with pole work (trad) Key thing is unger ninja wipes with the corner pockets lol.

I have one which is about 40 miles from me and not keen on the distance but got a mate who lives in that town and hes pretty epic with stuff like this!

Hi Paul

I clean a rather large showroom each month, inside & out. Exterior is WFP, interior is Trad, I use a Wagtail on a pole for the high level panes (top is around 24'), I also do the internal offices (all glass floor to ceiling) every other month.

Quite straight forward stuff, however wasn't sure on price (each pane is round 15' x 8') so based it on estimated time+ and asked client what they were willing to pay (rather unusual step), turned out to be around the price I had in mind so got the job!

I insist on prompt payment (normally within 2 weeks). I would however advise you don't put all your eggs in one basket i.e. become beholden to one client, nice whilst you have them but a blow when they go!

I would go on a day off and see what you can do mate. I am going tomorrow with very low expectations. I need to chat about when they want it doing as well! As i am sure they dont want customers getting wet

John I have never used a wagtail so will have to look it up. Are they easy to use?
