I've got a HF4 with mains water pressure around 40 psi.
Performance was quite poor on that kind of pressure so I bought a booster pump.
If you want to run straight off your tap pressure at 50 psi the HF5 will be a better option.
I believe Spruce on here runs a HF5 on tap pressure.

No I've only been using a 4040 since August.
It's an Axeon HF4 4040 membrane I've got.
What company is selling the tw30xle membrane?

Don't know anything about it im afraid.
I think if I was looking for a membrane off of 50 psi tap pressure I would play safe and go for a HF5.

Hi,

That's correct. On around 40 psi my HF5 membrane is producing 2 lpm of pure with fractionally over 2 litres of waste (45% pure to 55% waste.) Happily keeps the three of us in water during the winter.

We have a tap tds of 115 - 125 and the r/o membranes brings that down to around 2ppm.

www.vyair.co.uk sell the Amfor tw30xle membrane. Its over £10.00 cheaper from vyair even with £8.50 delivery than the Ebay seller.

http://www.vyair.com/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=190

Looking at the specification data from what I can see the GPD performance is rated at an applied pressure of 100 psi.
So im guessing that it will be a similar performer to a HF4 membrane?

PureFreedom told me that at 40psi the HF4 would produce the same as an HF5. The HF4 was cheaper but I just had a gut feeling that I should pay extra for the HF5. I have never run an HF4 so I can't offer a comparison.

June from GAPS Water suggested that at 40psi the HF5 would be fractionally better.

A fellow window cleaner has the same r/o I do and he runs his with an HF4 membrane. He lives in the same town but his water pressure is slightly higher than mine.

I can only go by my own limited experience with a HF4 membrane.
It was rubbish on 40 psi tap pressure, but with a booster pump taking it to 100 psi production rate trebled and it's producing about 3 ltrs of pure per minute.
