Re: How often does everyone put their prices up?

Everyone here has said they put their prices up but one actually has said by "HOW MUCH"?

I have been gong for 2 years now and was thinking of upping the price next year but £1 for each customer.

whats the normal price your would put them up by?

I've been going for 2 years myself but started putting up prices after the first 12-15 months. Most went up by a £1 (which is 5% of £20 - so you'd be stretching it to ask for more) - although some bigger houses went up £2 and those that I had under-priced in the early days also went up a bit more. Most people wouldn't complain if you said "it's going up by a quid next time"...

I reckon it's good business to have smaller price rises more often rather than bigger hikes after longer periods which can shock them. I plan to have price rises every 12-18 months but not linked to any point in the calendar but only when each individual customer has been with me that long etc etc.

I'm still amazed when custies say "is it still £x?" - implying that they're half-expecting you to put the price up anyway!  ;D

If I put prices up I round it up.
£10-£12
£12-£15
£15-£18
£18-£20

I don't like 'odd prices'
I haven't got any 9, 11, 13, 14, 16, 17, 19, 21, 22, 23, 24 pound houses.
Also, IMO, it's better to put them up £3 every couple (or so) years than £1 every year.

It's just the internet. Try not to worry.

i put some up every year.some good priced work needs going up though as no price rises on this work for 4 or 5 years.i usually put em up £1 or £2.

some ive put up a fiver before now.

i usually lose 2 or 3 customers per 100 and 2 or 3 again that go to a longer frequency.still make more money though.

price rises come into affect in april.
price higher/work harder!

Put them up 10%

Expect to lose 10% of your customers (usually less).

Same money - less work.

Fill in the gaps with new customers.
