Posting video clips
« on: November 30, 2013, 09:40:38 am »
I have, at long last, successfully managed to figure out how to post a video from Photobucket by repeatedly experimenting on one of my old posts. But, I have two questions related to my findings for you guys in the know.

1) From how it appears in the post, you wouldn't know that I have, in actual fact, posted a video, because it looks just like a picture. You have to tap on it to open it. How can that be rectified?

2) After tapping on the picture you are then taken to my Photobucket page were you have access to all my stuff. Now, while I obviously wouldn't mind you, my closest friends, rummaging around inside my account, with all that it has to offer, I know that you shouldn't be able to.

So, any ideas on how I can persuade my videos to behave would be very much appreciated.

I would say, the easiest way to post a video here, would be to open a youtube account. Then, you have your own channel, you can upload your videos there. When you post them here (via a link, similar to the way you use photobucket) the video will appear looking like a video, with a play button in the middle.

I havent tried it, but in theory, it should work perfectly.

Test

Nope, it appears you can only post the link from youtube, which only shows up in the post as a link. My bad.

Nonetheless, Matt, I very much appreciate your endeavours aimed at my enlightenment. How kind!  :)

I'll venture into a YouTube account and see how I get on.

Cheers!

Just open a YouTube account and post the link, easy.

Nick, do you speak like you type? Were you educated in a private school?  :D

Thanks, Deeege! But, hold on man, you have me all wrong. I'm as thick as sheyet. I even failed my last year as a neurologist; how embarrassing is that!

It's just that sometimes, I feel a little linguistically inspired to dip into the language with the largest vocabulary. It seems a shame not to.

Oh yeah, and I suppose I should also add that mother always remarked upon how unfortunate it was that I'd been gifted with an egotistical imagination that can at all times command an interminable and inconsistent series of arguments to malign an opponent and to glorify myself.

A sophistical rhetorician indeed; me, of all people! If you look closely, most of my posts are drenched in malapropism.

As for me attending a private school, I left school at sixteen before I'd learnt how to read and write. University was a nightmare!  :)
