hose repair

i have a hole in the middle of my microbore 8mm hose, how do you repair it?
Do you think the hot weather make the hose more fragile?

Yes, definitely.  With our first hose I used to drag it around walls like I was in a tug-of-war team; I didn't care if big bin lorries drove over it.

Then during the hot weather I kept springing leaks all over the place; so I'm more careful now.  I'll estimate how many coils I need and wind them off the reel and lay the hose around awkward walls (instead of dragging them around them) and I'll be more careful where I park to reduce the number of vehicles that run over the hose.

I'd say so mate yeah.
Might be an idea to have a protecta ball thingy were the join is aswel, just to give it a little protection.
Hot weather will effect the hose, as tosh has said just be careful. If the hose is stuck, dont have a tug of war with it. pull out as much hose as you think you need at the point you were stuck, this will shorten the chance of resistance....

My mate has a few holes in his hose, he just put gaffa/tank tape around the affected piece and it has been fine................... for the last 6 months, no joke  ;D ;D

Quick fix without messing about Self-Amalgamating Tape or plumbers tape (NOT PTFE) it is a rubber tape .

 You can get it from most diy places wrap it round tightly and it forms a rubber seal , I also wrap it around my Rectus 21 pole hose tap lever to prevent it from smashing with it been plastic . Mike
