One of my customers (an elderly) used to let me through her neighbours house.
This one time she was taking a while. When I looked through the frosted side door window I could see that she was on the floor. She wasn't getting up and she'd shut the front door other way in.
In a second I decided to kick the side entry door in (it took three attempt but was easier than I thought it would be. It was a solid wood door as well!).
She had fallen over and hit her head on the radiator.
I tried to comfort her while my brother phoned an ambulance.
They arrived in a few minutes and took her away shortly afterwards.
The other customer didn't say anything about me wrecking her door.
I enquired a few days later and she was still in hospital.
I asked again after about three weeks and she had died, I don't think it was directly from the head injury but it was still a shocker!
Another time me and my brother came across a woman who had just been run over by some kid at around 60mph (in a 30mph speed limit). He was still there next to his smashed up van which had ploughed through a wall.
She was a real mess. Broken bones everywhere. There were several other people around trying to make her comfortable. The police were there quickly and the ambulance came several minutes later, it seemed like ages!
She was conscious and said that her sister lived down the road, (one of our customers!) so my brother went to fetch her.
STRESS!!!
