Warning - Remember Top Clamp
« on: June 16, 2013, 08:49:35 am »
Don't cut the damn thing off!   ;D
I got the clamp upgrade kits for two of my poles and, rubbing my hands in anticipation, got to work. Cut cut cut, oh! I totally forgot about not whizzing the top Clamp off. Had to go to the dustbin, retrieve said clamp. Fortunately, I had cut it straight off the pole as the pole was quite worn at that p ; ;DDoint, so I just squeezed the pole remains in a vice and the clamp came away with no damage, lucky for me. Glued it back on .

Took me 10 mins to change mine because I didn't remove the clamps. I just changed the bolts and put the springs in off the new clamps. Job well done  ;)

Whilst they are interchangeable, doing this will not upgrade your clamps properly and they will not work as they should long-term.

To get the full long-term effect of the new clamps you do need to change the body as well.

Done my 3 poles on saturday, I must have been a bit slow as by the time I got onto the last pole, the glue which I had still to apply to the pole had set :-[
