Job in Edinburgh 8pm tomorrow (thursday)
« on: June 12, 2013, 11:28:36 am »
Hi Guys
Had a job come in to remove some temporary shopfront vinyls and to clean the glass in and out at a new Nike store. They want us to travel up from Leicester but if someone is interested in the job who is more local email me on tim@mcsclean.co.uk and I will email you a drawing of the shop front. It will take about 4-5 hours to do.
Let me know
Cheers
Tim ;D

Well, I subcontracted it to Edinburgh Window Cleaners, they have peeled a little bit of vinyl off and then said that they dont get paid enough to this sort of thing and walked off site!!! Totally left me in the shXX.  A very bad taste in my mouth about subcontracting, this is the first and last time I do it. How do these companies survive, what a c***p company

I think that is what has really wound me up, they went to site to look at the job and quoted it, I then even told him to add another 20.00 on cos I wanted to make it worth his whole. To top that he didn't even have the decency to phone me to say that they were walking off site, I had to find out from my customer. The worst customer service ever!

Unfortunately you do get a bit of that whilst sub-contracting out work,

Its ideally better to keep the work all in house but of course that's not always possible.

I agree Dean but it seems crazy that a company which has done this sort of thing before should act in this way, I mean how do these sort of companies stay afloat if you quit when the job gets tricky. If they had been professional and phoned me and said that the vinyl is a nightmare and that they need more money, I would have spoke to the customer and he would have paid it. You can imagine the sh** storm that I am going to have to endure now, particularly as the operations manager of Nike UK was having to clean windows at 1.00 this morning :-[

Hi Stuart
I have just sent an email to my client, he might still need just a clean but I will let you know, thanks for the offer. I have recieved an email from Graeme at edinburgh window cleaners to apologise but what made the whole thing into a fiasco is walking off site. He said he couldnt get the vinyl off, tried using a hairdryer but that packed up so they walked. As they walked off site they told the site foreman that they dont paid enough for this sort of sh**t.... Nice.. ::)roll
