Boiler flow switch spring - snapped!
« on: June 01, 2013, 03:32:09 pm »
My 21ltr hotbox has been releasing around 90% of the water from the safety valve underneath the boiler giving me a serious lack of pressure when using it.

Decided to take the safety valve off underneath and investigate today, unscrewed the m22 'inlet' connection to the boiler and then took the flow switch off the safety valve and took that apart.

I found a broken spring inside...

From this part of the flow switch...

I'm guessing I can just buy a replacement spring, any ideas where?!!?!

Wouldnt it be easier to just buy a new flow switch complete? Save you the hassle of getting the exact spring with exact load rating etc?

Is the spring out of the actual flow switch itself? or the safety valve?

If the flow switch is fitted in the vertical position then it dos'nt need the spring - I remove mine when I run my small machine on the hot box and never put them back
