i am really stuck i need a booster pump as mains presser is low and there are so many types i just don't no what one to buy can anyone please point me in the right direction should i go for a presser vessel or just a diaphragm pump  i need one to connect in the hose from mains presser  to boost water into the ro as my tds is high any info or links or what do u guys use any info much appreciated.

i use the clarke CBM240E booster pump, its expensive set you bak 300 pound it does its job think mines about 5-6 years old never had a problem. Also has a automatic cut off if you water gets switched off say by kids or the wife  so the pump wont run dry.

OK good i been looking at this pump yesterday as it happens but i was not sure if it was any good to connect to mains pressure it does look good but like u say it is dear but just need to no what u guys use so i no what works so i guess the cbm240e  is one option then thanks Dave. i no u lot hear the same questions all the time but i really need your input and im asking for some help please help me with some more choices of pumps i could use thanks.

I do no quite a few on here use that pump also with no problems. i can't comment for any other pumps because ive not used a different one.

i been looking on net and all they show u is a pic and a bit of info that is no help what so ever i am not gonna buy a pump i no nothing about they don't seem to tell u weather u can connect to mains they don't give any info on what the psi is so for all i no i could buy a pump with the same psi i as my mains witch is no good so if i no what works for u lot then it will most properly work for me.

i really like the look of that pump dave i properly will have to get this pump as its the only option i have got at mo i looked at it yesterday but didn't no if it would work but u have confirmed that it does witch is good thanks for your reply least i got one answer lol.

if you download the manual it will give u details on all of that, or go the shop and ask them.

you will set your desired pressure by closing or opening your waste water tap on your 4040 membrane. Only only run mine at about 63 psi due to low pressure and not a lot of water flow from my tap.. if i run it any higher it starves the membrane of water and makes the TDS rise.

Its a good pump the my RO would be in the 30's tds wise without it... and i get it down to about 20 at the moment sometimes 18-17 but as i said each setup varies and i have low low pressure.. about 12-15 psi

u must off read my last post then lol to no i have a 4040 ro. ok cool that's interesting so by using the flush on my ro i can adjust the pressure of water from booster pump and why does it starve membrane of water if u run it higher i don't get that part.? and how do you no what psi to run it at?

the starvation thing is based on my setup because my tap does not produce a lot of water per min probably about 8 litres. yours is will be diffrent i imagine this is based on me.

run you run your RO now it you close the tap a little bit that increase the pressure if you have a PSI gage inline of your membrane it would show what PSI your running it from  at the moment. You use this tap to get the best out of your system to your setup you have to fine tune how much you open or close this tap.. you should have instructions explaining all of this when you bought the RO.

nope none at all   just instructions on how to take apart i will have to buy one of them pressure gauge then wont i to no what the best psi will be for me and i will need it to maintain that psi level to ok good staff well thanks for info been a big help thanks loads.

If you buy two of them fit one before and one after the pre filters this will help you tell you when you need to replace the pre filters as you will get a pressure drop. However i change my pre filters about every 2 month's regardless anyway there only cheap.

You basically close the waste tap the more pure water you will make however you need to constantly test it with your tds meter upon setting it up initially to get the best out of the system. for example 60% pure 40% waste or 50% 50% to pure/waste you have to do it what works well for your system, you could just mark a spot on the waste tap where u need to close it to each day to make pure water. a pressure gage does come in handy though

ok thanks guys yer im gonna get a pressure gauge then that way every night i fill up i can keep a eye on what psi is going in try and keep it to the same psi every time i fill up.
