They are super glued on i think you can get a super glue remover never used it so cant comment on it .

I bought an S-Max 40 and have taken 3 sections off to use it as a 25 ft and am now using a bike handle bar grip chopped in half as end cap managed to get about an 1" of it on end of section with about 2 1/2 " inches over hang works great .

Also wrapped some self amalgamating tape to help keep it in place . Mike

Thank you Avo for the pictorial demonstration.

Sometimes it is possible to pop the end cap off by opening the bottom clamp and closing the upper section down firmly - this often works. If not, the method that I use is to use a sharp knife and sliced down the side of the cap being carefully not to cut into the carbon. This then allows the cap to peel off.

You would then need to buy a replacement end cap when wanting to re-use - at £1.45 they fortunately will not break the bank.

On the new SLXII poles none of the caps are glued on but are just a good tight fit so that they can be twisted off when needed - this (along with other features) will allow the poles to be easily expanded/added to when needed.

Ive heated one up with a heat gun before to remove the end cap, no damage to cap and was able to reuse.
