Lets have a little balance here regarding the inaccurate statements being made regarding TSA.
(some one once said that "Condemnation with out investigation is the stupidest thing you can do" i think he was right)
I have been TSA for 18 months and it costs me £125.00 per year or £2.40 a week.
I am the
first & only trading standards approved carpet cleaner in 3 counties and probably beyond. So to suggest that others have gone before me is a total non-sense and shows that you just do not understand what TSA is all about.
This of course means that I can advertise as 'The only TSA carpet cleaner in the county'.
In that time I have been approved I have never received any instructions to do this or that, no one has ordered me to do any thing I didn't want to do :

, they haven't visited me since joining the scheme but do make contact to make sure everything is ok and have informed me that to date not one complaint about the standards of work, my advertising or anything else has been called in to question unlike all the complaints they receive about shoddy work and practises by other carpet cleaners, which they do investigate.
The only query they had was from another Carpet Cleaner who questioned whether I had all the accreditations and approval that I state I do on my marketing.Of course they were able to tell them that I do and it's checked out.
Of course when some one rings up and complains about a CC Trading Standards pass on my details to them as an approved trader they can trust.
They did carry out a 'mystery shop' to check that I was following all the guide lines and I received the report which was full of praise for a job well done

. which was nice.
If the costs were to escalate or restrictive practises imposed as has been mentioned with out any foundation at all, then I would simply leave the scheme :

as would, no doubt, many over trades so it would be pointless.
What you doubters are failing to do is understand what the TSA is all about, instead you are linking it to the likes of ufindus (which incidentally is being investigated by Trading Standards the very organisation you knock) and other two bob schemes and organisations that are just out to fleece the unwary.
Many of you mention that you conduct business in an ethical manner, which is great, why not prove it to your clients by going one step further and getting the only independent backing and accreditation worth having and that is recognised by most consumers.
These are the 'facts' not the fantasy put about by others.
At the very least look into it and get the information before making sweeping comments that might disuade others from improving themselves.
