You have to look at the demographics of people, yes I know you can't discount people but on the whole demographics and statistics usually work.

A young mother with probably not a great deal of disposable income may be not working as her partner is the sole earner at this moment of time will be looking at getting the most out of her money, unless there is a special occassion where a professional result is needed a make do clean will have to do for now. Only reason I would go on net mums would be to get a hot unattached mum who wants a bit

You are right Steve, and I can say the same. We have to remember though that we are not our market! We are trying to get customers from people with greater income, people who simply would not be sticking a rugdr in the back of the car at a supermarket.

As for educating folk, I always point out that letting agents require carpets to be cleaned by professional cleaners, the reason being that they know the difference, they have seen the before and after results of hundreds of carpets. I have pics of the water from where I cleaned a carpet after it as done DIY if they are still not convinced.

I came across the posts on Facebook from a carpet cleaner wich astounded me. He is a franchisee who charges moderate prices but sure knows how to milk Facebook.

This guy works in North Ayrshire but travels further. He has loads of information and has loads of testimonials on his Facebook site so it certainly works for him.

Sorry I don't have he know how to enable access to this set up but for many it will be a dawdle and well worth looking at.

I know a carpet cleaner who does well charging £18 a room, does the fact 1 man makes a success of charging £18 a room mean we all should do it?

There will always be examples of people who make a success of a situation but they are the exception to the rule and cannot be held up as an example of what everyone else should do.

If 1 or 2 companies  gets loads of work from Facebook this does not mean its what we should all do,
