Best van

Hi Chaps,

I know this will be down to everyones differing opinion and what you use your van for etc. but just asking if anyone has preferences over a van type/size or has used a particular van and wished they hadnt bought it ie too small or too big etc.

I have been looking at Peugeot Expert, Citroen Dispatch, Renault Trafic, Citroen Berlingo, I need 3 seats in the front. (i also like the VW Transporter, but looks expensive)

I am a sole trader at present (although sometimes 2 of us) and am switching to wfp in next few weeks/months. I will still do trad. and wfp for now anyway.

I know there are many variables, but just wondered what some of you guys use, especially those guys who aren't mainly commercial, as they will probs need something bigger i'm sure?

Many thanks in advance.

Steve

I used to have a 99 expert 1.9td pulled like a train but very thirsty.........the facelift ones do look much better, not so noisy in the cabin driving either :)

Love my year old Trafic although they do still have reported gear box probs and can need replacing  :o hopefully never but for the moment a great van, drives very well with 600L on board, not bad on the diesel (hard to know mpg as mix of town and motorway) and compared to my old astravan I love the space. Good luck whichever you decide btw i went for this mainly due to cost over the Transporter.

im just changing my scudo. its an 04 model. Its near enough perfect for me as a one man band, and has 3 seats.

Only changing cos i use my van as my personal vehicle and need more room for bikes, fishing etc. Also i want to treat myself..lol

The older shape models are better than the newer regarding reliability etc.

I'm pleased with my Hyundai iload. But so I should be as I have only had it a year from new.
It's a game of three halves!

I like these vans Jimmy, but they are expensive as they obviously keep there value, dont really want one with too many miles.
Thanks for reply.

If you plan on keeping the van, then go for a " cat d " insurance claim van . . . .  you pay around 25 - 30 % less.
