Quoting for over three story work
« on: March 07, 2013, 04:40:56 pm »
I usually quote at £1 per window. But now I am quoting for a five story apartment block, having only previously done the odd house with one or two third story windows. Do the guys on here charge a premium for very high buildings or raise the price per window when over 2/3 stories? Srikes me it is harder graft doing high level cleaning and must take longer, but I want to be realistic and give a fair and competitive price.

I do a fair few of these mainly 4 storeys with some dormer and velux at 5 storey level but just work on a day rate.

With right pole they dont take much longer except for getting pole up in fitst place

If you work at/ charge at a good hourly rate and therefore day rate like Ian says then no dont charge more.

However if not then charge more, and clear it in your head, so your not umming and arhing over whether you have done the right thing, by thinking its slightly harder to clean and coudnt be undertaken by a Trad cleaner so charge for it.

like others if the whole block then i price on day rate

but if its the odd one, then i always charge a little more than normal.
like £1 for the first 2 floors, then £2 anything after that
