These products have been around for a while now and we actually deal in them. They are basically Polymer based and fill the very small pores in surfaces making them extra slippy. We've had a look at utilising them for carpets however at the moment it does not seem feasible mainly due to the cost of the raw product. We supply them to blue chip and transport companies who use them to coat glass and concrete surfaces to make them more resistant to dirt and easier to clean. They are not permanent and do wear off if the surface is subject to footfall or handling.

A. How long it would last on carpets
B. how much it would cost to apply

There's always a market for premium products providing they live up to expectations, the video is impressive but so is a standard video from scotch guard etc but you don't tend to get those results all the time in the real world, if Superhydrophobic and oleophobic is going to do what it does on the video then it would be worth paying far more just to get these results every time and put confidence into the cleaner selling the product to his customer.

What about coating the inside of your waste tank in your porty, or even the inside of your hoses?
If this stuff could be sold in spray cans, it would be great for upholstery.

Looks like it changes the texture and colours of textiles so I doubt anyone would want it in its current form

Do you mean on the gloves ?

I think if it is that the gloves should have a solvent version as they are water sensitive.

Did you get to the demo stage? It would be interesting to see if there is much preparation ie leaving items in a slight acid state etc.

This product has limitations.  You cannot clean treated areas with, detergents, soaps, solvents or high pressure water.  It also wears off quite easily so no good for protecting carpets / upholstery.  Click the link below and fast forward to approx 2 minutes 25 seconds.
