Hi i have been delivering leaflets on cars which are quick and houses which are slow dont know which one is more effective. Just wonderign if any of yo guys had an oppinion?

I did a car park once in Cwmbran once. It was one of these covered ones and we did not have one single job. If i had a leaflet under my windscreen wipers i wouldn't mind because i know what it's like being self employed.

The proble with this is that you do not know what area and type of house they come from.

At least by posting to houses, you get to pick the good areas where you think the work will be forthcoming, and in an area local to you. I priced a job once without asking the area. Because the dialing code was a local one to me, i assumed it was near, but infact turned out to be further out.

Suffice to say knowing your luck, your responses will be from areas far away.

Ray I think Dave has hit the nail on the head, cars could have travelled from anywhere and parked up, if you do houses at least you can pick the area's you want to cover.

Dave you could very well have stumbled onto a car park full of Doctors on a bender down from Scotland

I do'nt know what the law is in the UK ,but it is illegal to leaflet cars in Ireland as it is regarded as littering and you could be fined up to 1,000 euros. Better check out the by-laws in your area.

Much safer with Houses some people can get very anoyed if they know someons been tampering with there car. I dont know what the law is re putting them on cars but supermarkets round here take a very dim veue and will escort
you off the car park if court.

Last  year their was the Cleaner Neighbourhood legislation

Which gives Councils more power to srop companies handing  out leaflets in the street. Placing them on cars etc. as this creates litter.  But the Council has to make a no leaflet zone.

So its best to check with localauthority first, as more and more Councils are employing enforcement officers who issue on the spot fines.

This also includes droping litter, flytipping, and graffiti


Last year there was discussion I think on this Forum about putting leaflets on cars and some one found the rules and regulations concerning this.

So it might be worth using the search facility.

Yeah I dropped on car parks and got a phone call twice warning me not to do it again or they would take legal action.

Why not do the shopping in your eye-catching signwritten van, park as near to the supermarket door as you can, and leave a few leaflets UNDER YOUR OWN WIPERS!

Nosey people (and there are millions of them) will take a leaflet.

Costs nothing, takes no time, worth a try!

Yeas a good idea. This was something i was thinking of doing whem i am in an area working.

Clip a plastic dispenser onto your van with please take one. I have not have the time to implement it.
