Price Advice South East
« on: December 30, 2012, 12:10:48 am »
Hello as above really started a while back, I have started to put a list of prices with a small introduction attached to a business card that I post through. On here at the moment are the prices I'm going to state. (Before now when canvassing I've gone the low end of these)

Front Only          - £5 - £6                             Detached - 3 Bed - £13 - £15
Terraced             - £10 - £11                                           4 Bed - £15 - £17
2 / 3 Bed Semi    - £11 - £12.50                                      5 Bed - £17 - £20
4 Bed Semi         - £12 - £13.50             Bungalows Vary Between £8 - £15
(Conservatories add £2)

Can anyone advise me if these are about right? I don't want to go around undercutting or pricing myself out of work. Atm only have bungalows and a few small 3 bed semis. Anyone in or around the Essex area do these seem about right? Or anyone with an idea of prices in the south east.

Thanks
Tom

Hi mate. Im just over the water from essex covering Greenhithe to blackheath.
To be honest your prices sound about right if anythin your under selling yourself. id up your front only's and also add between £5-10 for connies. Anything detatched charge £20+ unless realy small.
You should aim to hit £60-80 glass time an hour which is verey achievable if you keep the work compact and priced well.
Try not waste to much time through leaflets as most people just chuck them in the bin, best way is to canvas or buy a big chunk of work so will be compact and suited to your needs.

Try not to spend too much time door knocking, and dont buy a round. IMO  :-*
Built my business from leaflets and only ever had 3 people stop having them cleaned, but there again we do a 1st class job. ;D

I think your conservatory pricing needs sorting due too the variety you will come across.
Good luck and get leafletting/carding!!

id rather 1 in 20 hit rate than 1 in 1000 return rate but each to there own :o .
Buying a big chunk of established compact work outweighs any method of finding customers.
Im not saying don't do leafletting as it does have its place. i have never leafleted but from research from here and other cleaners i speak to its a verey slow process of gaining work nowdays. Maybe 10-15 years ago it was a lot better.

Mick, I think it just must be a london thing with leaflets, we seem to do very well up here (north east) with them. like you say each to there own. Like your surname by the way.  ;)

Haha i live in a kent postcode, not my surname. Im guessing yours is your surname being up north.

I think your right up north leafletting sounds like it has major advantages.

Thanks all for the advice, I'll up the price for connies and detached as you suggested Mick thanks for that.

Dave, that would be the price without the roof I would offer this as an add on.

After reading plenty of posts on here I will be leafleting an area and then knocking the area a few days later, buying a round is out of the question for me at the moment due to a lack of funds but will definately look into this in the future.

Thanks again everyone :)
