So I presprayed a shop front with Powerburst double strength yesterday and turned my airflex storm.

A few mins into rinsing and the main tripswitch went. A few hours later and owner and i finally worked out how to reset tripswitch. Turned airflex on, 5 minutes into cleaning it went again. This happened a few times until both the vacs in the airflex stopped working altogether.

Now I am going to look into getting the airflex looked at but here is my problem -

This busy and established shop is planning to open on 27th and still has powerburst down on about 5x7m of floor. The rest of the floor is still uncleaned.

What would you recommend I do?

I was planning on going away to my mums for a week for an xmas break, starting today. If I have to loose a day of my xmas break and pop back here then so be it though, but id rather not.


Is it bad practise to leave powerburst down on the floor?

Joe - why not ask a local colleague to finish the job for you?

Bad practise to use it at double strength.

Use a backup machine or borrow one to finish the job, or sub it out.

Believe it or not doubling the strength does not make it any more effective. PB is designed to work at a particular diltion rate. If you want it to work hard then agitate it in with a CRB or rotary brush.
You could just spray the area with acid rinse and leave it till you get back, but there is probably no poinht as it will have dried by now.

Airflex storm like a lot of the high powered HWE draws a lot of power and does occasionally trip the electric's sometimes it requires a bit of juggling using different plugs available and try to plug into two different ring mains. I probably have a problem with electric's tripping in around 1 in 20 but always manage to find a way around it by juggling the plugs i use.

Joe I take it the Storm is still working if you try it at home etc, I suspect it is just old or very sensitive electrics in shop.

How many sockets you need for a pump and 2 vacs.
Mine runs off one lead and I can't remember the last
time it tripped the electrics.
Keep the in tank heater on till ready to go then unplug
that and plug in vacs and pump.

Hi Joe

It's unlikely that the Powerburst is going to affect the types of carpet normally used in shops, the worst that can happen is that it may resoil a little quicker but with the current awful weather this is hardly going to make much difference.

Plug into the cooker point with the heater plug , and any other power point in kitchen ,
as there normaly on a seperate ring to rest of property

Just unplug the heater plug when your using machine
and plug it back in when not using.
I always do this and to be honest the temperature as
dropped after 30 minutes cleaning.

Jason and Steve - the Airlfex Storm does not have an in-tank heater but has two power plugs one for the pump and one for the vac's but because it draw's a lot of amp's it can occasionally trip the electric's, like other high spec porties.

1 Don't worry about it - once it's dried it's not going to get any worse.

2 Keep the customer satisfied by getting your neighbour to do it or lend you a machine.

Get a cheap machine for emergencys airfex mini is perfect or a rotory with pads

Sorry joe missed your call yesterday, would say the same as everyone else, just leave it until your machine sorted but you are welcome to borrow my cfr400 machine if you want, if not I can clean it for you with truckmount after Xmas
