« on: December 08, 2012, 02:43:03 pm »
OK

Got a few jobs now where i cant help thinking investing in a backpack would be the smarter working option rather than reeling hose out etc..

so after some recommendations alternatives pros /cons etc..

Cheers

if you plan to use a trolley (foldable) the gardeners one out lasts the wcw one by far (wet etc and bad connectors inside wcw, if you want to carry it get the wcw 1 (gardeners handle is in the lid ) if you do get the wcw 1 open it up, change the clips to jubali , cover the battery terminals , change all the connecters to crocodile clips and the seall the top to the bottom with silicone..... my advice use a sack barrow with the yellow one from gardiners

Paul, I've just taken delivery of the ws18 from John Hewitt that sfwc mentioned. Very similar to shurflo. Used it today on 3 storey, had to regulate the flow with a tap, it was too powerful! £95 plus vat and delivery. Although I thought when I purchased that a trolley was included, it turned up without one but seemingly they've been too lightweight so he has stopped doing the trolley version. But it seems a good backpack. Had 2 WCW and a shurflo previously.

make a return for the pack,so not all the water will go to the brush..if just
using a tap controller to turn the flow down you could damage the pump
as it could be cycling.

a return back to the pack will let the pump run normally and your water
will last at least twice as long

Got an email from John:

"The WS18T is not available any more as the trolleys were too lightweight apart from which you bought a WS18 not a WS18T

Cheers

John"

Gary, I use a small tap next to brush head to control flow, the pump stops cycling as soon as I turn it off. Although I like your idea. Cheers

So you had to modify it to control the flow??.... i see they do one with various speeds would this be the better option?

I dont need a trolley type one just backpack only.. grab from van .. walk through house or around the corner to back hook up and clean.. i recogn it will massively help me out...

No mate, no modification at all on the backpack. I put a small gardiners flow control valve on pole hose just before my brush.  ;)
