unfortunately brodex only fit a sediment filter so your r o wont last long

You're joking - surely.

Alf.
If you dont have a adjustable waste valve how to you control your pure to waste water ratio?
As your ro gets older it helps to run more water to waste to keep the tds lower.

John,
With the brodex system you simply put one hose in the inlet
And one in the RO unit turn the tap on and it flushes it out.no valve that I'm aware of?! Hope I'm explains clear enough!

From 450 tds your  R O should produce at least 45 tds, at 70 your resin  will not last long.  I think your resin is spent due to your tds been so high.   Have you ever flushed your RO. And have to taken a look at your r o membranes they could be split.AS this would have an impact on the flow and an higher tds.

Resin was changed about 6ish weeks ago.i flush this system almost daily ,not taken a look at the ro membranes

Hi Alf,  on the on side of your brodex 500 ro, where your water flow controller is, to the left of the controller the two glass water gauge's,  the left water gauge shows your pure,  the right hand gauge shows waste,  the right
hand waste gauge should have a adjustable waist valve on it, when flushing your ro the adjustable waist valve should be used.  when used for normal window washing the water level in both glass water gauge's should be level side by side using the adjustable waist valve, so your system should be running on a 50/50 pure to waist ratio.

hope this helps regards lal

I would have thought that the most important filter would be a carbon block over a sediment filter.

As you can get a CB filter to 5 micron I would go this way and use the CB filter as a sediment filter as well. Best option though would be to add a seperate filter elsewhere and have a conventional sediment filter first followed by CB after then R/O.
