Hi all,
Recently Got myself a pure freedom 4040 static system - I've already got a van mount 4040 but the offer of this nearly new, second hand system was too good to turn down 

My thoughts are now either flog the 4040 I have in the van ( it has a stainless steel housing too ) or... Would there be any advantage to fit a second RO to the static?

I've read that twin RO can reduce waste and speed production?
If so, how do fit it? Is it as simple as water to 1st RO, waste from that into 2nd RO then waste from 2nd to drain?

Any help, comments appreciated

Am I right in thinking some ionics systems have twin ROs ?

I want save money on my metered water system and was briefly speaking to June at Gaps about the benefits of twin RO but would like to hear from anyone who's actually got two fitted??

Yes, the 2nd ro re-processes the waste from the first ro.
This means more product water compared to a single ro.

 it's a hf4 4040 bought from Gaps about 4 month ago (receipt available )- it produces 011 Down from about 350  - virtually brand new mate - stainless steel housing so it won't crack in the winter

Would like know if its worth connecting up to the other RO 1st tho - it depends how much I can save on the yearly water bill against flogging it I suppose

Yes, the 2nd ro re-processes the waste from the first ro.

why doesn't the higher waste knacker the 2nd RO ? This is the bit I don't understand
Will the waste automatically regulate itself ?

The 2nd ro will definitely be working harder, hence regular flushing is a must.

Water pressure is the key,  the more pressure the better.

that would totally depend on the amount of water you get through.

just remember there will still be waste if your adding it as a second ro, if your looking to sell it, put it on the sale section someone will bite your hand off if it is not overpriced. steel possibly will make it more prone to freezing so cracking is not the issue membrane damage is. so arguements for and against it being metal mean very little. (its a sales pitch from a supplier imo)

I would flush the membrane every day regardless if I had one or two as the tds shoots up when it is still and not in use causing resin wastage if not disconnected and flushed.
