Quote For A Long Pile Next Rug - 100% Polyester

Hi all,
Has anyone cleaned one of these next rugs yet?
http://www.next.co.uk/x501048s3#837900x50
I am seeking the best method to clean it.
Its a 100% polyester rug, however i`m not sure what the backing is made from. i.e rubber/latex/glue etc.
I had seen a post in the past (maybe on CIU) where the chap basically ended up with the pile inside his porty machine!! It looked as though the chemical he used had reacted with the latex backing and it crumbled therefore shedding the pile....... I have been asked to clean and deodorise the rug which is about 120 x 170cm in length.
I have not seen the Rug yet but there maybe a couple of rooms and stairs to clean as well.
Thanks in advance

We have one of these rugs in my daughters room and the instuctions say not to over wet with carpet shampoo.
So i would vac well then clean using dry fibre shampoo then towel and extract with machine and brush to reset.
If it`s heavily soiled this may not be sufficent but for light to moderate soil should do the job

There was a post on here a few months back regarding the glue breaking down from the backing and giving off a damp dog smell that can`t be improved, due to water based substance delaminating the backing. I`ve had a couple like that. Do a searce for more details, and tread carefully or warn custy first.
